Course Information
Description This course emphasizes activities associated with the hands-on operation of process equipment.
Prerequisites PREREQUISITES: PTAC-2420/PTAC-1432
Learning Outcomes     
SLO 1: Students will use technology to access operator-specific documentation and training SLO 2: Students will identify specific equipment and operating parameters to meet industry standards. SLO 3: Students will identify and adjust controls to meet requirements for safe and effective operation. SLO 4: Students will implements standard safety procedures as required in industry.

DETERMINATION OF FINAL GRADE: Chapter Tests-33.3%, Quizzes/homework/labs-33.3% Final Exam-33.3%
1. You will have 4 Major Tests and a Final Exam in this class. All tests and the exam are taken in class on a specified day. There are "NO MAKEUPS OR RETAKES ?only at instructors discretion If you miss "ONE" Test, your current test average will be given for that test. If you miss more than one test, you will receive a zero for each additional test you miss. If you are involved in Academic Dishonesty, you will NOT be allowed to replace the zero with your current test average. Taking the Final Exam is required to complete the course.
2. Homework must be completed on time, 15 PTS will be deducted each class day late, for two class days. Homework more than 2 class days late will not receive a grade higher than 50. Homework should be hand
3. Each time you are caught on your Cell Phone in the classroom or lab, will result in the student having 4 points deducted from their major test points total at the end of the semester.
4. Students that are disruptive in class will be asked to leave and counted absent for the day.

Instructor Policies
Attendance Policy ATTENDANCE POLICY: Research has shown a cause and effect relationship between attendance and college success. Missing a day of lecture can possible cause you to drop a letter grade on tests.
1. Tardiness: Tardiness, for lectures or labs, will result in 2 point per tardy being deducted from your test points total at the end of the semester.
2. Absences: A student with 6 unexcused absences will drop a letter grade. You will drop 2 letter grades with 9 unexcused absences. NOTE: Excused absences are, (verifiable), a signed doctor?s appointment or hospital release or a death in your immediate family, excluding aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Three points each for the first 5 absences will be deducted from your major test points total at the end of the semester.
3. A student with Perfect attendance will receive 15 bonus points added to your test points total at the end of the semester.
Academic Honesty Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.

  1. No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom.

  2. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission.
